Sold! That's what the little orange dot on the tag means. She sold 2 days after the show opened. I'm so excited and yet sad that she won't be coming home with me because I really love this piece. I hope I can find out who bought her and where she will live. In a home? In an office? It's so wonderful that someone likes her enough to want to live with her.
I also found out that she was reviewed as part of the group show with which she's hanging…
Fun to see her in print! The reviewer was so kind too. Here's a snippet of the article…
"Since its a little dodgy seeing art work at a busy café, it makes sense to look at just a few paintings, photos, drawings and mixed media pieces at a time.
Start with Karen Tessandore’s “B” or “bee” girl at the entrance, an oil, acrylic, paper and bee’s wax painting that exudes luster and depth. The canvas is inside a rough wood frame more gray than woody, with text and illustrations from pages of the dictionary as the background, and a big-lipped character in the foreground.
Bee girl looks assertive in a Princess Leia kind of way, dressed in rich layers and wings, her black hair in buns at both sides of her head. You won’t miss her when you walk in, but don’t forget to look at the other “Text Me” work as you order, eat, drink and talk."
To read more about the other wonderful work from the group show, you can see the full story here. I have a feeling much of my good press is due to Enzina Marrari who had curated both group shows in which I've been included. She's been a great supporter of my work. Actually, she's an artist too and is very active in the art community in all kinds of ways. I bet there are more than a few people who have her to thank for getting their work out into the public eye. Thanks Enzina. 🙂
And thanks person-who-bought-B-girl! Thank you!

Hey Karen,
I was at Middleway this weekend and was surprised to see your artwork hanging in the entry. She is really lovely – congratulations on being included in the show! I just had to look up your blog to comment 🙂
Thanks Holly, I was surprised they displayed her right up front too! Nice to hear from you. 🙂
