Isn't this a beautiful space? Friday was my 42nd birthday so my friend Meg threw me a party at her home. I had found these little cupcake toppers and thought they were so cute…
But Meg thought we could have fun making our own birdie cupcake toppers. Sounded like a great idea to me! I love this photo with everyone busy crafting…
My daughter made a little bird in a nest and I made a house (because I can't draw birds very well!).
The lovely fat ceramic birds are one of my birthday presents from my friend Penny. Love them!
Here are our finished group of toppers…
It's great that they're all so different from each other. The crazy polka-dotted cat is by my friend Candice.
My favorite thing about the day was just being crafty with friends & my daughter. As I've said before…art is my happy place! So what better than making things with the people with whom I enjoy spending time? ๐
I have to show you this milk glass cookie jar too. I love milk glass, but until today I didn't own any. Thanks Candice & Penny!
Meg had a little theme going with my love of law enforcement right along side my love of more traditionally feminine things. And…she even compromised her culinary standards by making the strawberry cupcakes I requested. They're from a Paula Deen recipe and let's just say they couldn't be called gourmet by any stretch of the imagination. (Jello and a cake mix may have been involved.) But they were tasty and so pretty…
Thanks girls, for celebrating my birthday with me! I have to end this post with another photo of the little fat birds. It seems as if they're looking optimistically into the future and so am I. :)
Here's to the next 42 years!
