It may look like just any old shirt, but really it shows the results of my first "tweaking" job. I can't quite say it was a sewing job because I didn't make the shirt from scratch. But I did alter it to fit! I loved the shirt in general, but it was a way-too-big-for-me thrift shop find. Probably the fact that it only cost a couple bucks was what encouraged me to start cutting. If I ruined it, no biggie.
Those two sections are what I cut out of each side. Now it fits just right. :) Finished it just in time to wear it on our bike ride this afternoon. And it was a good thing we had some exercise planned because look what my daughter made…
A Strawberry Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting! Oh man. Look at that silky richness…
Yummy! Too much of that and the shirt won't fit anymore. 🙂

This is such a sweet post.the colors and hominess of ti all . I have a pile of clothes that need some “work” .I keep hoping to get to them and then I drag them out and they lay around for a few days and then i end up putting them back in the large basket and shoved under my work spot table.
i’m impressed! what a great way to learn- if you screw it up, you would’t have been too heart broken, which made you brave enough to end up with something great!
What a great idea- I often see things I love at thrift stores but never think to alter them. I love the color of the blouse and the cake looks delicious!
You got a chuckle out of me! I, too, started a nip & tuck project yesterday, but unfortunately don’t have someone around to offer those sweet temptations.
