Isn't this nifty? I received this crazy-cool egg scale for my birthday last week. Love it!
2 of my girls appear to be laying medium sized eggs, and one is giving us larges. It's amazing that with just 3 hens we're keeping us, my mom and several co-workers stocked with eggs. Once the chickens began laying though, they started eating a LOT – about 80 lbs of feed every 3 weeks! It will be nice when summer comes around so they can get out and supplement their diet with some bugs and greens. Right now we try to treat them with blueberries and spinach leaves most every evening. Very spoiled. 🙂
