My poor painting table sits temporarily abandoned as Easter projects take over! I spent the evening making chocolate dipped peeps. :) So much fun & yummy too.
This would be a really easy project to do with kids. I used Wilton Candy Melts because you don't have to temper the chocolate, it always dries shiny {no worries about "blooming"} and it stays melty for long enough to work with. Just fill a small bowl with the wafers and heat it up in the microwave.
After dipping the peep in chocolate, dredge the dipped part in sprinkles or coconut & set them on parchment paper. They'll set up in about 5-10 minutes. {Oh and one tip for the bunnies ~ I found they stood up better if I cut the bottom off flat before dipping.}
Package them up in treat bags and they're ready to go! Don't you love all the colors they come in now?
