I didn't think anything could top my long weekend at Art Nest, but I came home to some wonderful birthday treats! My friend Meg made these gorgeous cupcakes. They were all dense & fudgey ~ my favorite. I love the color combo of the dark chocolate & pretty dried flowers + I think the frosting was flavored with espresso. mmmmm. Tasty works of art.
My co-workers spoiled me rotten with so many thoughtful gifts and nice wishes. Here I thought coming back to work on Monday was going to be hard! The kindness of friends was really the icing on the cake this year.
I also wanted to share a few more bits from the nest. This painting is by Jolee Jane.
I was thrilled to bring this canvas home with me! She traded me for my girl in the pink dress that I made the first day. I love the colors she has going here, and the words "Unity, Community, Love" + it's so funny that she called it Bossy Bird. Check out Jolee's nonprofit too, Art Takes a Village.
Jolee {on the right} was invited to Art Nest by her friend Gloria {left}. That's me in the middle. :) I am so happy to know both of them. They're beautiful girls, inside & out and such talented artists. Check out Gloria's blog. In the last couple days she's posted some art that she made since being back home. I especially love her little owl!
Hope you're all having a creative & restful weekend. ♥

I sure wish I could have scooped up those girls and spent TONS more time with them. So creative and so kind. How fun that you and Jane traded art work! 🙂
