Marshmallow victory ~ finally!

Stack_9432Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, the candy thermometer broke when I was making these.  I had to use the old fashioned method of dropping the hot sugar mixture in cold water to check the temp.  Haven't tried that since high school, so I wasn't totally confident these would come out.  But whoa Nelly, they did!  I also remembered to add the vanilla to this batch, which made all the difference in the yummy-ness.
Cup_9443I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but this was quite a treat.  Creamy deliciousness!  Can't you just taste it?
Cup2_9472After my disproportionate excitement over the marshmallows subsided, I spent some time enjoying this tiny puzzle by Karen Rossi
Puzzle

She's collaborated with a company to create 12 tiny (8×10"-ish) puzzles – one for each month of the year.  What a great idea!  I found them at Barnes  & Noble, very reasonably priced at $5 each.  I always wonder when things are that inexpensive – how much is the artist receiving?  I hope she did well on the licensing.  Although I see on her website that there are several job openings at Karen Rossi Studio, so I'll assume she's got her pricing pretty well in hand!  Always great to see an artist doing well.
