There are definitely fun new things happening, but I don't quite have anything to show for it!   The project I'm most excited about is with a vendor right now – hope to have it back to show you next week.

And the marshmallows I was working on a couple days ago, welll….I'm kind of still working on them!  Actually I'm on to the 3rd batch now because little things keep going wrong.  On tonight's batch, I was just about to put the candy thermometer in and noticed the glass was cracked.  Glad I caught that before it went into the boiling sugar.  I'm thinking it could have caused a real mess.  But soon, very soon I intend to have photos for you of those homemade squares floating in hot chocolate.  I will not be defeated by the 'schmoes!  :o)

So, for your viewing pleasure (since I hate to do a post without a photo) I pulled these from the archives.  My first ~ and so far only ~ foray into making giant fortune cookies.  Ta-da!Cookies2

Aren't they nifty?  I hope I don't sound too impressed with myself here ~ I was actually just so amazed that these can be made at home.  It's quite the process though.  They can only be baked one at a time since you have to fold them up quick while they're still hot.  I think if you tried to bake two at a time, the second one would be too set up to fold by the time you finished the first one.  Or maybe it just takes practice to be super speedy.  These are about 5" across in the middle.  And yes – they have fortunes too!  Very fun.

Hope you're having a great weekend.
