  • Owl with a Heart

Oh my gosh, I just love this little guy!  You probably don't remember since it's been so long, but this is the owl that I started working on way back at the end of June.  After I made several of the basic bodies, I kind of got side-tracked working on new paintings & other things.

  • Spilling Her Curds & Whey

One yard high & one foot wide – I think this is going to look great on the golden yellow wall where it will hang for the next month.   I kept considering adding the the words "spilling her curds & whey" in a tumbling kind of manner down along the space beside the spider's web.

  • Día de los Muertos

I know, a little out of season right?  :)  I decided today that I wanted to plan an "Art Night" at my house this October with a Day of the Dead theme.  But I needed something to put on the invitation, so I stopped by Michael's and yep – they had just what I was

  • Along came a…

One more piece of my Miss Muffet painting.  I'm glad you guys like seeing the works-in-progress!  I go kind of slow when it comes to art things, so if I only ever showed finished products my posts might be pretty darn scarce. I think this little spider needs a hat.  Maybe with a daisy in

  • Miss Muffet, part II

Looks a little more like a dress now I hope!  I'm not used to working on these larger canvases yet.  It takes so long just to get the background filled in compared to the little 12" squares I normally use.  But it is nice to have room to spread out the image & tell a

  • Patchwork Beginnings

Believe it or not, this is going to be Little Miss Muffet & the spider that frightened her away!  This is just part of a 36" tall x 12" wide canvas.  It's so funny seeing the painting at this stage.  I promise though…I really do have a plan.  🙂 ♥ p.s.  Don't forget to leave

  • Ta-Da!

Finally done with Hansel & Grethel.  And it's a good thing too…I have 2 more paintings to complete before August 11th!  Better get busy.  Do you like the little bird eating the bread crumbs?  I thought that detail kind of helped to finish the story of the painting.   🙂 ♥

  • Artful Blogging!

Normally, the title of a magazine wouldn't warrant an exclamation point in the title of a post.  But this isn't just any magazine.  Aside from being an always rich & lovely publication… My blog is featured in this issue!  Yay!  This is the fall issue that hits the stands on August 1st.  To celebrate, I'd

  • Gingerbread House

Still picking away at finishing my Hansel & Grethel painting.  It's funny, I always pictured the witches' house as made out of gingerbread & covered with candy.  But here's the description from the story, "…the house was built of bread, and roofed with cakes; and the window was of transparent sugar." That's all the detail
