Cold Weather
Had fun today painting this girl on an 8×10" canvas. The words in the corner say "Letting go". With the temperatures hanging at around zero, staying inside to paint seemed pretty inviting this weekend. The cold temps do tend to go hand-in-hand with clear skies though, which made for a gorgeous view of Anchorage on

Inspired by…
On this very chilly Alaska night, I was at a bit of a loss for what to do. There was an interesting, but depressing show on PBS about the dust bowl years of the 1930's. The book I'm reading is kind of a downer about the psychological cost of creating soldiers & sending them off

Cupcake Success
Chocolate Bacon Toffee Cupcakes ~ it was a culinary risk, but turned out well! I think the best part was the Maple Cream Cheese frosting. The empty tray was the only thing that came home with me, so I think they were enjoyed by all. ♥ P.S. I also made my favorite Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes

Works in Progress
The girls always look so creepy at this stage ~ no eyes! I've got to wait a day or so for the oil paints to really dry so I can finish the faces the way I like to. I started this girl today when my friend came over for an art-afternoon. It was fun to

New Chicken Tricks
When I peeked out the back door this evening, I thought I spied some activity through the window of the hen house. And sure enough, when I got up closer… …there were 3 girls looking back out at me. :) Which was good news, because it meant they finally got brave enough to use their

Witchy Girl
H…A…double L…oh…double U…double E…N, spells Halloween! Please tell me I'm not the only one to remember that song from grade school. Anyone? It must have been a kindergarten thing, but to this day when I spell Halloween I sing that song in my head. 🙂 So this is my girl! I initially wanted to do
