Meet Lorie, Natalie & one of our oh-so-talented teachers, Kelly Rae.
Lorie was one of my 2 roomies at Art Nest. Luckily, she & I & Diana all liked a chilly room to sleep in so we kept our window cracked at night. It sounds like a small thing, but rooming with people you've never met…that could have interesting to say the least. But it, like everything else at the Nest, turned out great! (Hi Lorie!) And Natalie – I was so excited to meet her because I was already a fan of her blog ~ it was like a celebrity sighting for me! :) Check out these little pins she made for each of us. I'm still wearing mine every day. ♥
At the bottom of that photo above, you'll see a bit of breakfast from that morning. Here's a better view:German Apple Pancakes! They were sweet, but not too sweet & good with or without the maple syrup. The food was amazing at every meal & there as a lot of wishing that perhaps Julie & Candice will make an Art Nest cookbook. Julie was kind enough to share the recipe for this particular treat:
Give 'em a try! ♥

Oh my gosh, I’ve finally caught up with work (when I’d much rather be making art) after our time together at the Nest and I came over to read your blog. And there I was! Haha, so funny! I’ve been thinking about you, birthday girl, and hoping re-entry wasn’t too hard. What sweet, sweet memories. I love browsing your recent posts. You are so talented!! xox Lorie
P.S. And besides being so talented, you are also so CLEVER–taking a photo of this recipe. I wanted this, and now I have it, thanks to you.

Hi Lorie & Laurie! So good to hear from you – I miss you both. 🙂
Can’t beat those pancakes, right? Sometime in the next few days, I’m going to ask Lorriane’s permission to post her YUMMY cookie recipe for those that didn’t get a chance to copy it down.
Happy Art-ing, girls! And thanks again for the GREAT birthday. I’ll never forget it.

I’ll try this again. Hopefully you don’t get 2 messages…so new at this.
I am so excited to make the German Apple Pancake recipe (thanks) for some friends at their cabin tomorrow morning…it will bring back memories and generate some stories…I think I’ll take my painting to show off too. Have a great weekend girls…hope you have time to be creative…if you’re like me you are creative with everything you do, even with pancakes.
