  • Say Cheese!

Oooo…I've been wanting this Fuji Instax Mini camera for SO long.  :)  I love the little biz-card size polaroids it takes and I love the click-wrrrr sound of the picture popping out the top of the camera.  As you can see, I had to test it out on my chickies.  They thought it was cool

  • It must be a sign…

Love this sign from Skin Deep Tattoo in Lahaina, Maui.  Very cool shop.  If I had been carrying an extra $1000 I might have gone in for an addition to one of my tattoos.  Maybe next time. So I guess I like signs more than I realized, judging by the number of photos I took

  • Sea Life

The snorkeling was really good but if you want to see some wonderful sea life without venturing into the water, nothing beats a stop at the Maui Ocean Center.  I could have watched the jellyfish blob around all day…so peaceful. ~ k

  • Home

We're back from our tropical holiday.  We had a great time, but it's always so nice to be home too.  Take a look at the contrast between where we were yesterday {above} and as compared to today… No matter where you spent it, hope you had a lovely turkey day! ~ k

  • Making Lemonade (or trying to…)

When my daughter asked me why I had put lemons in the branches of the not-yet-leafy tree in our front yard, I told her I was making lemonade.  I'm sure she (and the neighbors) thought I was a little crazy. No, it's not even a citrus tree since we're a bit too far north for

  • Lychee

While looking through some old photos tonight, I found this series I made of Lychee fruit.  They were so beautiful, I just had to set up lights and shoot some photos before slicing them open to eat.  This next image is my favorite of the four… I thought it had kind of a painterly quality.

  • First Day of Spring

Spring in Alaska…such as it is.  :)  Guess it will still be awhile before I can ride my bike!   It was nearly 50 degrees today though, so everything was melty and drippy.  A good sign that green grass will show itself soon. The chickens will be thrilled to get out & scratch around in the

  • Beauty in Unexpected Places

We're far enough past winter solstice now, that it's still light when I get off work at 4:30.  (Just a month ago that wouldn't have been the case.)  So, at the end of not-my-best day, I took a drive out toward a scenic viewpoint just past the airport.  As I rounded the last corner, instead
