Cupcake Success
Chocolate Bacon Toffee Cupcakes ~ it was a culinary risk, but turned out well! I think the best part was the Maple Cream Cheese frosting. The empty tray was the only thing that came home with me, so I think they were enjoyed by all. ♥ P.S. I also made my favorite Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes

Chocolate & Bacon
Ok, so that's a photo of chopped toffee…but it looked more appetizing than a photo of bacon! (All part of the same recipe though.) Meg invited me to her gourmet club dinner this weekend. The theme is "ultimate tailgate food". So I'm left with a couple dilemmas ~ I'm not a gourmet cook, and have

Sweet Treats
Searching through my cupboards today, I found the Beignet mix that I brought home from Cafe Du Monde last summer. Can't believe I hadn't made my own yet! During my visit to New Orleans, every evening was finished with a trip to the cafe for beignets & coffee. Guess that's pretty tame compared to how

Berries & Bugs
The backyard is full of these beauties! Well, not the whole backyard. But I decided awhile ago to let them grow down along part of the fence. With the warm weather we had in June they started getting ripe much earlier than usual. The best part is that I'm not contending with Orb Weavers (that

Summer Yummies
Take these 3 ingredients, add a good friend & a backyard campfire… It all adds up to a great evening & S'mores of course! Half the fun is trying to get the perfectly toasted marshmallow. :) Here's to summer! ♥

Shower Treats
Fancy Flours saves the day again. :) I made these sugar cookies with their Vintage Seed Packet wafer papers and used lemon butter frosting to adhere them. So yummy & pretty too. They were perfect for the garden themed bridal shower we had for my friend Meg yesterday. The Angel Food Cakes with lemon curd

Homemade Bread
Tomato Juice Bread! Mmmmm. My Mom used to make this when I was a kid and I think it's the only kind of bread I've ever ventured to make. So tasty! I might have to make another batch soon, but instead of loaves, try a batch of hamburger buns. I forget how really easy it

Big, Soft, Chewy Cookies
It was a marathon baking session tonight! These are Oatmeal, Coconut, White Chocolate Chip, Cranberry cookies. I had a co-worker years ago that loved to have one of these for breakfast with a glass of milk. 🙂 Next up were the Chocolate, Chocolate Chip cookies. This is the batter before the Chocolate Chips are mixed

Apple Butter Pies
Mmmmm! Did a little baking this weekend. :) This is a Martha Stewart recipe that I found a few years ago. That woman knows pies. These always seem more like a fall treat, but I've had this Apple Butter in my cupboard just begging to be used. It was tempting me every time I opened

Peep Peep!
My poor painting table sits temporarily abandoned as Easter projects take over! I spent the evening making chocolate dipped peeps. :) So much fun & yummy too. This would be a really easy project to do with kids. I used Wilton Candy Melts because you don't have to temper the chocolate, it always dries shiny
