Tonight I drove out to Palmer, Alaska {about an hour outside of Anchorage} to attend a chicken class! Palmer is farm country and it's just beautiful out there. If I had to pick my favorite town in Alaska, Seward & Palmer would probably tie. Kodiak & Homer would be in the mix too…they just take longer to get to from where I live.
Driving out to Palmer, you pass this house on the left. I always like to do the "what if I lived there" game in my head. Looking out the front windows of this cute place, you'd have a view of the mountains seen in the photo above. And I would definitely have horses.
Even from the highway on the road back in, the scenery is beautiful…
Looking to the right from that spot on the road, this is what you see off the bridge… That's the Knik River. I drove down beside the water to enjoy the view for a minute or two & would have stayed longer, but it was pretty windy and I wasn't really dressed for it…
I had a great evening learning about chickens and enjoying a wonderful drive. Got home at about 10:30 and we still had time to barbeque burgers! ♥
