Cupcake Success

Close_6690 Chocolate Bacon Toffee Cupcakes ~ it was a culinary risk, but turned out well!
Open_6711 I think the best part was the Maple Cream Cheese frosting.
Tray_6721 The empty tray was the only thing that came home with me, so I think they were enjoyed by all. 

P.S. I also made my favorite Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes as a back up in case the bacon thing went horribly wrong!
Mix_6608 That recipe is from my favorite cookbook, Nigella Lawson's Feast.   It's a really dense, damp cake that has a surprisingly n0t-too-sweet flavor. 

This version of cream cheese frosting has heavy cream blended into it, which adds to the tasty-ness ~ but means that it really needs to be eaten the same day as it doesn't seem to keep well.
