On this very chilly Alaska night, I was at a bit of a loss for what to do. There was an interesting, but depressing show on PBS about the dust bowl years of the 1930's. The book I'm reading is kind of a downer about the psychological cost of creating soldiers & sending them off to war. I was feeling generally worried about this & that and needed a mental lift! So I started looking up my favorite blogs.
Stopped by Gloria's first to see how she did in her race. {Go Gloria!} Then went to Julie's where I found a powerful quote she had posted and was inspired by her lovely artwork to replicate this little person in felt. It still needs more poking (it's needle felted) before I can add arms & wings. Julie, maybe I'll send her down to live with you! Thanks for the inspiration, girls.

Julie, that is SO funny that we were making our little projects at the same time. I love the Karen’s World painting & snapped her right up out of your shop! 🙂 It makes me so happy.
It would be super fun to do a workshop together. I keep thinking I need to get my Alaska art retreat together so I can get you up here. I want to learn your dry brush technique!
