Toot, Toot! The kettle is singing that the water is ready. :o)
I wasn't sure what to paint when I sat down this evening, but knew I wanted to do something with this little 6×6" canvas. I rolled on some color with my brayer, dried that layer with my heat gun, then put on a coat of gel medium. The black "lines" around the edge were made by laying black thread into the still-wet gel medium.
I keep thinking it's time to move away from fall colors, but I can never get enough
of that orange. I gravitate toward those rich palettes…the 3 largest
walls in my living room are painted gold, rust/orange, and eggplant!
Ok, I know I said I wasn't going to show my doll until she's all finished, but here's just a peek: She's a lot farther along than that now. I like her in this statue-looking state though. :o)

Hi! I like your little kettle piece. What a great idea of incorporating a button and thread. I love your doll as well – what is her head made of? The body is made from fabric, right? 🙂 Silke
I love the button in the corner! Super cute!!!
Big cookies–YUM! Great photos. I wanted to lick the batter.
I like the thread and buttons in your kettle piece, too.
THANKS for the peek at your doll. The little flip hairstyle is cute. Mine is sewn, but not yet turned . . .
Hi girls! Glad everyone likes the button…I’ve only just recently caught the “button bug” and am starting to see more & more ways to incorporate them.
Silke, yep ~ the doll is muslin and the head is PaperClay.
Lorie, it will be fun to see how your girl comes out too! I’m actually not loving mine as much after I painted her, but I think she’s just in that “ugly” phase that some projects go through before the finishing touches bring them together. I’m really enjoying the process though. The skirt was especially fun. 🙂
