This is a little peek at my new art space! :) I have some really cute fabric that will become curtains to hide the storage beneath the table. I worked on the curtains for awhile this evening, but sewing isn't really my thing ~ so before long I put the sewing machine away and pulled out my paints.
Photos of the finished painting and my new work area to come ~ soon, I hope. I'm still figuring out what to use for a cute room divider. Once that's in place I'll be excited to show you the whole area.
With a house less than 850 square feet, it's been a real challenge to make space to work and still maintain the living area separately. It's easy for the whole place to become "my studio". I'm so happy with this new arrangement though! And I have to admit that I'm a bit proud of myself too, since there's been a bit of carpentry involved. {Not a lot, but enough…} I tend to get really impatient with this kind of project, but this time around I took my time and did everything right. Measured carefully, planned, did several careful coats of paint, etc. The effort was definitely worth it. I think I'll especially appreciate it when winter rolls back around and more time is spent inside.
