Some Things I Saw in Baltimore

Egg_0810Egg sculpture outside of the American Visionary Art Museum – my favorite museum ever.  I visited many, many times in the week I was in Baltimore.  + They have the best gift shop.  That alone is worth the visit.  It looks like it could have been curated by John Waters (a Baltimore native) – weird and awesome.
FtMcHenry_0759The incredibly symmetrical Fort McHenry (above & below).
FtMcHenry_0756Fort McHenry is where the battle took place that inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the United States national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner.

26th_floor_0827Next, Fell's Point – which I loved.  Cobblestone streets, live music, galleries, crab cakes.  Love.
Fellspoint_0550The water taxi that took me everywhere, back and forth like a little aquatic pin-ball across the inner harbor.
Watertaxi_0895A street performer…
Performer_0820She was nice.  We chatted with her a bit since she was just getting off shift.  Then there were the Dinosaur paddle-boats, for which alas…I didn't manage to make time.  Next time for sure.

Tree_0722It sounded lovely, tinkling in the wind.

Ship_0578Didn't make time to tour it (also on my list for next time) but it did scare the bejesus out of me when they fired the canon while I was enjoying a 5 Guys burger on the dock.  🙂

So that was Baltimore this time around.  The more I go, the more I like it!
