Spring Dress

This girl's just for me!  Actually, what happened is that she came out a little too closely inspired by Kelly Rae's lovely girls for me to feel comfortable trying to sell her.  Not that I'm comparing my work at all to hers…but you know what I mean, right?  I'm SO grateful for artists that are willing to teach their technique but I always worry that I'm going to end up "borrowing" a bit too much from them.  I guess I'm still trying to define my own style, so I sometimes slip into the zone of those who inspire me.  :o)  Does that happen to you too?  All part of learning I think.

I did have fun tonight though.  ♥  What a joy to cut, paste, & paint!  It makes me feel like I love the whole world ~ all expansive and happy.

And can you tell I just bought a new gel pen?   Note the photo above ~ I was having fun making white dots.  She almost didn't make it past collage stage…

…'cause I like her just like that.  But I really wanted to try Kelly Rae's technique for making a dramatic dark dress, so I had to push on.  Oh, hey!  I just got another idea for something half-way between the collage & painting stages.  But since it's almost 2 a.m. that inspiration will have to simmer until tomorrow evening.  Better sketch it out before I forget though…

Good night!
