I only have a moment to show you my new girl…I'm supposed to be studying! :)
For a long time I've been wanting to do the faces of my girls in oil paints. Since oils stay wet longer, there's more blending opportunity. First I did a little research on how to use this kind of paint, how to clean the brushes, etc. then bought a new set of brushes (and paints of course!) just for this purpose.
This is my first attempt – her skin & hair are in oils, the rest is in acrylic. She's on a 16×20" canvas so I had plenty of room to see what I was doing.
Love the texture! That was an unanticipated good thing.
Ok, I gotta get back to my reading for class. Hope you're having a great weekend!

I just wanted to say hi. What’s it like in Alaska this time of year. Still hot here in Louisiana. I like your work and I like this girl. You did a great job. What are you studying for. I just thought I’d leave a note since you so encourage us to do so. A breath of fresh air. Keep painting.
Hi Terri,
Thank you for visiting and for leaving such a nice comment – I do love receiving notes! 🙂
It’s fall weather here and all the leaves are coming off the trees. I visited Louisiana a few years ago and really enjoyed it. But boy, I couldn’t bear living with the hot weather. I like the cooler temps we have in Alaska.
I’m studying for my undergrad in Psychology so I can be a counselor. But since I work full time too – that doesn’t leave me much free time. Sometimes though, I just have to make some art! Glad you like my girl today. 🙂
