Commissions for Christmas

This is one of the 3 paintings I was commissioned to make this Christmas…all three of actual kids!  I normally just paint from my imagination and have never tried to do paintings of real girls before so I wasn't sure how it would go.  But it was totally fun and I really like how they turned out.  Even better than that, the two moms that commissioned the paintings liked them.  Yay.  :)  This one will be a surprise for the girls' dad. 

I like how the gold in their blond hair shimmers when it catches the light…
I figured I was safe in showing the painting before Chritmas since I'm pretty darn sure the guy who's receiving it doesn't read my blog.  🙂
